Hardware Requirements

Fresh

Scaling Total Control to more devices requires specific hardware. Below are the recommended specifications for each tier.

Power Warning

The power supplied by the USB Hub to each device must exceed 12W, otherwise devices will disconnect during testing.

Key Notes

  • ASUS Z-series ATX motherboards are specifically recommended for 50+ device setups — they have more native USB ports and may not need PCIe expansion cards
  • PCIe x4 to USB 3.1 expansion cards can support approximately 40 additional devices each
  • High-frequency CPUs are preferred over multi-threaded — Intel I-series recommended over E-series
  • Intel E-Series processors lack integrated GPU and are slower for TC

USB Hub Requirements

  • Use quality 10-port USB hubs rated for 120W minimum
  • Each port must supply at least 12W per device
  • Back-panel USB ports on the motherboard are preferred over front-panel
  • Use quality data cables (preferably original manufacturer)

Display Requirements

  • Minimum 1080P display resolution
  • Higher resolutions recommended for MDCC grid view with many devices

Network Requirements (TCP Mode)

  • Stable WiFi connection
  • Low latency (5GHz preferred)
  • Quality access points
  • Same LAN as PC
